What other equipment will I need  for using Flexicult in POETIC?

Essential:

• An Incubator for incubation of the Flexicult tests at 35°Centigrade.
  
  
• An  example is the small, desk-top Cultura® M Incubator. (http://www.echamicrobiology.co.uk)
  
  
• A mid stream urine collection kit.
  
  An example is the PEEZY MSU kit (http://peezy.axialit.co.uk/). This kit has been shown to reduce contamination rates in urine cultures (Jackson S.R. et al. BJU Int. 2005. Aug;96 (3):360-4).
  
  
• 3 mL disposable pastettes. A pastette can be used when only  a small amount of urine is available. The minimum volume of urine for using Flexicult  is 2.5ml and this can be more easily distributed onto the plate using a pastette.
  
  
• A camera. An OLYMPUS SP-620UZ digital camera will be provided. The camera will need four AA batteries (keep a stock of batteries or battery charger) and a memory card (SD/SDHC/SDXC only).
